  • In ancient time, the warriors would raise a flag with a symbol of a panda on it, in order to call a truce with the enemy. 
  • Pandas are one of the cut and famous animals found in the world.
  • They are species of bears, and their native areas is the southern part of central China. They were also located in Myanmar and northern parts of Vietnam.
  • It attract people with its large and black spots around its eyes and ears. Such spots are also seen in its body as well.
  • They have a prominent black and white coat and exhibit black fur around their eyes, ears, nose, legs, and shoulders. They possess broad and flat molar teeth for chewing bamboo.
  • They eat from 10 to 40 KG of bamboo leaves per day because those leaves have deficient nutritional value.
  • Pandas have the ability to climb on trees and swim in the water. They get these abilities mostly after they are seven months older.

  • Unlike most other bears, pandas do not hibernate. When winter approaches, they lower down their mountain home to warmer temperatures, where they continue to chomp away on bamboo.

  •  The male pandas home range may overlap with several female territories and when breeding season arrives during the springtime, he will attempt to mate with these local females.
  • pandas occasionally meet outside of breeding season, and communicate with each other through scent marks and calls.


  • Panda pregnancy lasts about 5 months.
  • Females pandas give birth to one or two years. Cubs stay with their mothers for 18 months before venturing off on their own!
  • Mother pandas protect their cub nearly 100% of the time  during their first month.

  • Wild pandas usually have just one cub, while pandas in captivity are more likely to have twins.
  • If the mother panda has two cubs, she will only feed the one she thinks is stronger. The other one is left fend for itself.
  • Baby pandas are born pink and measure about 15cm _ that's about the size of a pencil! They are also born blind and only open their eyes six to eight weeks after birth.
  • Cubs start eating bamboo at around 12 months of age, but until then they are completely dependent on their mother.

The world's oldest giant panda was Xinxing ('New Star') in chongqing zoo at 38 years old and four months (1982-2020).
