Tiger is our national animals. Easily recognised by its coat of reddish-orange with dark strips the tiger is largest wild cat in the world. The big cat tail is three feet long . On average the big cat weight 450 pounds about the same as eight ten-year-old kids. It stands three feet tall with teeth four inches long and claws as long as hours keys 

A female tiger given brith litter of four or three cubs who she will care for untill they are a year-and-a-half-year old. These cubs quadrupled in size during their frist mouth!


The powerful predator generally hunt alone able to bring down prey such as deer and antelope. Tiger wait until dark to hunt . The thger sprints to an unsuspecting animals usually pulling it off its feet with its teeth and claws. If the prey animals is large the tiger bites it's throats to kill it smaller prey is usually killed when the tiger break its neck. Tiger have been kown to eat up 60 pounds of  meat in one night , but more often they consume about 12 pounds during a meal . It may take days for a tiger to finishing eat it's kill . The cat eats untill it's full and then cover the caress with leaves and dirt . The tiger comes back to feed some more. 

Tiger live far apart from each other . A tiger known if is in another to tiger's territory based on the tree around him . Each tiger marks the tree in its area with urine and special scratches. 
Unlike most members of the cat family tiger seem to enjoy water and swim well . 

Some tiger live where it gets very cold - in India and parts of Southern Asia. The whole endangered throughout its range.

Tiger habits has also dwindle serious as human have developed land for uses such as farming and logging . However in the siberian region of Russia there's hope that these big cats are making of comeback 

Tiger stripes are special to each individual and their tails helps them to keep their balance. The big cat share all but 4.4% of their DNA with domestic cats.

Newborn Calf The average Holstein calf weighs from 90 to 100 pounds at birth. A newborn calf is fed colostrum milk for the first three days of life.
